Erika

Youngest daughter of King Tobias, Erika's mother died while giving birth to her, an event that haunts her and causes a riff between her and her twin sisters. While growing up, she clung to the shirttail of her older brother Barin, and her desire to be a warrior was due to her relationship with  him.

Erika is the main character in Sword of Cho Nisi Rise of a Tobian Princess, and is featured in two companion stories in the collection Silver Threads.

Arell

Arell was the son of a native Cho Nisi woman whose father immigrated from Casdamia. His father eventually became king of the Cho Nisi island, thus leaving the crown to him when he died.

Raised as a native Arell steps into a role he's not familiar with and must work with a race of people foreign to him. His allegiance to the Cho Nisi lifestyle, and the respect for the elders who raised him become a constant reminder of who he is, and who he is not. Were it not for his love for Erika, he'd have remained on the island.

Arell is strong, willing to learn and is the first to admit his leisurely life on the island has held him back from becoming the king his people need. Arell plays a major role in the entire Cho Nisi series.

barte4.jpg

Barte

A complicated character, Barte is the son of Moshere, and grandson of Bahldi the Great, who was cursed by the demon-wizard Skotadi. The curse was handed down to Barte and so as a young emperor he was handed a plate of evil, confusion, with little knowledge of how to handle it.

He is capable of withstanding it all, and in Sword of Cho Nisi, learns to adapt with amazing skill.

Barte is mentioned in Rise of the Tobian Princess but doesn't show up until Fall of the Kings.

King Tobias

Legendary king of Potamia, he is Barin's, the twins Olinda and Rhea, and Erika's father.

A widower, Tobias is a man with much strength and many battles behind him but in his old age he has become soft, and a much more forgiving man. His children mean the world to him, and his only concern is for their's and the kingdom's safety after he passes away.

Kairos9.jpg

Kairos

A wizard, and he'll be the first to tell you he's not a very good one. His father, King Tobias' personal wizard, was the most powerful wizard of all time, but when he died his son Kairos was unable to fulfill the king's expectations.

Nevertheless, Kairos has a heart of gold and is probably the most humble of men, not counting the folks in Fairmistle. He works through his ineptness in the Cho Nisi saga to become a lifelong friend to Barin.

Rory123.jpg

Rory

A country boy from Fairmistle, join the Potamian army under King Tobias when he was only 16. Rory is faithful and humble never once denying the simple lifestyle and legends of his people in the little town by the river.

Rory has common sense, sees a need and fulfills it, and never does he complain, taking life as it's handed to him.
